Laurie Sutherland

Laurie Sutherland servers as the Division Vice President of Information Technology for the Northeast Division of Comcast.  In her current roles, she leads an IT team of 200 individuals that support IT infrastructure, call center technology, telecom, application development, business intelligence, billing system and offer management systems.  She supports 25,000 employees and 8,000,000 customers.  Additionally Laurie assists Comcast headquarters with system and application deployment; serving on several committees that determine IT strategy for the company.  She also partners with Divisional functional leads in providing technology applications and systems that enhance their operation.

Laurie has been with Comcast since 1996, where she has held several IT roles, beginning with Director of Technology for Continental Cablevision’s New England Region.  She has supported the New England, Houston, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Michigan, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC markets at various times throughout her career.  Prior to joining Comcast, Laurie worked for Harvard University in the Office for Information Technology where she worked on the deployment of Harvard’s centralized voice and data network.

Laurie has led many strategic projects throughout her career at Comcast, all of which resulted in more efficient operations, streamline business processes and cost savings.  She received the WICT of New England award for Technical Achievement in 2008 and Avaya’s Sustained Excellence Award in 2012.

Laurie has a BA in English Literature from Drew University and has been advisor to Bunker Hill Community College for their technology curriculum.
