Lisa Hyams

Lisa Hyams is vice president of network partnerships for Network Operations at Turner Broadcasting System, INC (TBS, Inc).  In this capacity, she is responsible for the strategic partnership with the TBS, Inc. entertainment networks TNT, TBS and TCM.  She is based in Atlanta and reports to Veronica Sheehan, senior vice president of Network Operations, TBS, Inc. 

Hyams joined Turner in July 2008 with more than 25 years of experience in the domestic and international television industry.  While at Discovery Communications Inc. she was acting senior vice president of Network Operations for Discovery’s Latin America division, responsible for the broadcast and technical operations of twelve unique US Hispanic and Latin American cable networks, a total of 22 unique feeds. In this role, Hyams managed the strategic oversight of the company’s operations including broadcast technology, post production & engineering, information technology, new media (IPTV, VOD) and administration (building administration, security, safety). As head of the division’s Business Continuity program, she was responsible for offices in Miami, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, assisted the NY and DC offices with their alternate site transition during 9/11, and worked on alternate site and recovery efforts with the Discovery Asia office during the SARs outbreak.

While at Group W Network Services (now Ascent Media) in Stamford CT, Hyams contributed to several pioneering moments within the cable television industry.  She and her team launched Asia Broadcast Centre, the first digital broadcast facility in the Pacific Rim, which enabled several US cable networks to expand their international presence; the first VOD pilot program in the US Your Choice TV, one of the first pay-per-view movie networks Request Television, and one of the first out of market sports packages, NFL Sunday Ticket. 

Hyams holds a Bachelor’s degree from Marist College School of Film/Television in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she is also an MBA Candidate.  An alumna of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute (BMLI Class XII), Lisa is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT).  Lisa is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), a member of the Association of Continuity Planners (ACP) and Disaster Recovery International (DRII).
