Lisa Ray Griffin

Lisa Ray Griffin serves as vice president of finance for Turner Entertainment Networks, which includes TBS, TNT, truTV and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). In this capacity, she oversees budgeting/long range planning, forecasting, and financial reporting for each network. She also provides strategic support for network executives to assist them in achieving business goals along with her team of finance professionals. Griffin is based in Atlanta and reports to John Heath, senior vice president of finance for Turner Entertainment Networks & AYAKM.

 

Griffin joined Turner’s finance and accounting team in August 1998 as an accounting manager. Throughout her tenure at the company, she has partnered closely with operations and led several strategic quantitative business reviews that led to increased revenues and maximization of resources, assisted on corporate-wide initiatives, including the standardization of various policies and procedures, an overhaul of the chart of accounts, the rollout of Sarbanes Oxley reporting standards, and served on the executive committee to launch Procure 2 Pay, an automated work-flow system for invoices. She also played an integral role in the rollout of the Career Pathing employee development program and served on several committees that ultimately led to creating an accounting shared service department.

 

Griffin came to Turner from a treasury role at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). Prior to that, she worked in auditing, with positions at Grant Thornton LLP and JP Morgan f/k/a Banc One.

 

In addition to her finance role for Turner, Griffin is extremely active in her community through various volunteering efforts. She is a current member of NAMIC, NABA and WICT. In 2015 she was named Key Contributor Award from the Atlanta NABA Chapter. In 2013 she was named one of the industry’s Emerging Business Leaders by NAMIC and one of the most influential minorities by CableFax. In 2012 she was the recipient of the Mae Douglas Leadership Award from the Atlanta NAMIC Chapter. She currently serves as Co-chair for Black Professionals at Turner a business resource group where she is responsible for establishing the annual vision and facilitating the board’s efforts towards that vision. Lisa, formerly served on the board of Turner Women Today as co-chair of the mentoring committee; in this role she organizes a 9 month program for over 200 participants.

 

Griffin earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting, with honors, from St. Mary’s University. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia.
