Lori A. Hickok serves as the executive vice president of finance for Scripps Networks Interactive. She oversees the company’s accounting, reporting, tax, treasury and financial planning functions. Prior to assuming this position, Hickok was vice president and controller for The E.W. Scripps Company (Scripps) since June 2002.
Hickok’s relationship with Scripps dates back to 1988 when she was hired as a financial analyst in the corporate finance department. She held positions as the chief analyst for corporate development, controller for the company’s new media operations and financial manager in the company’s former cable television systems division, which merged in 1996 with Comcast Corporation. Hickok left the company after the merger to serve two years as vice president of finance for Paramount Kings Island in Cincinnati. She began her career as a certified public accountant in 1985 at the accounting firm of Ernst & Whinney where, over a three-year period, she advanced from serving as a staff accountant to auditor and then senior auditor.
Hickok graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a bachelor’s degree in business, majoring in accounting and finance. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Cable Telecommunications Association for Marketers’ Executive Management Program and the Scripps Leadership Institute and, in 2012, she was named a recipient of the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation’s “Women in Numbers” award.
