Prior to working in the cable industry, Lynette Van Someren worked 15 years in the non-profit equine industry. She started in Marketing where she developed and managed all association promotional merchandise, and moved through several positions, including liaison for national committees and BOD parliamentarian. Supporting over 400 shows a year she performed the duties of the Arabian Horse Show adjudicator where she was called upon to hear issues and make rulings based on facts, precedence or intent of international association and other governing body’s rules and regulations.
In 1999, from the non-profit, world Ms. Van Someren moved into corporate cable technology world via vendor management, overseeing facilitation and internal and external interface agreements. In 2004 she took on the task of developing continuity and disaster recovery planning for national operations and voice services.
Lynette is a third generation Colorado native. In her free time she enjoys remodeling, landscaping and all things outdoors, including camping, hiking, and horses. She raised her daughter as a single parent for 20 of her 21 years – learning time management, the difference between effective and ineffective multi-tasking, and how to embrace the unknown.
