Lynne Simon

Lynne Simon is Director of General Sales for Comcast Spotlight in San Francisco, leading the Regional and National teams of the advertising sales division for Comcast Cable. Her teams provide multi-media solutions to advertisers, including traditional spot cable advertising, internet, addressable advertising and the technological innovation of Video-On-Demand.  Since her arrival in early 2003, the system has seen unprecedented and consistent double-digit revenue gains every year.  Lynne’s National Sales team earned the President’s Club Award in 2004 and the #1 billing position in the nation in 2006.

Instrumental in bringing The Center for Sales Strategy (CSS) to Comcast Spotlight, Lynne helped spread the culture of Customer Focused Selling and Talent-Focused Management throughout the organization.  She has identified and recruited top talent at many levels and departments while optimizing individual potential and restructuring her business units.  The system has seen numerous successes under her leadership, including several 100% budget wins from top companies who have renewed again and again.  Lynne strategically led a Political team of 10 to historic wins, more than tripling revenue goals in 2006.

In 2007, Lynne combined her passion for nature and environmental conservation with her dedication to promoting Comcast’s new technologies by creating and launching Green Scene, the first ON DEMAND channel dedicated to sustainability.  Lynne developed a partnership with a start up company to produce original animated content “The Unsustainables” – featuring a non-traditional “family” that stumbles toward the future – to increase awareness and launch the channel to viewers and advertisers in a fun and accessible way.

Lynne serves on several Corporate and Divisional advisory boards including Standards & Operations, CRM Solutions, Field Marketing and Political.

Lynne has been at the cutting edge throughout her career. Just prior to joining Comcast Spotlight, she was Vice President of Sales/Western Region for TechTV, a national cable network, and its affiliate website, techtv.com.  Having spent time on both the client and media side of the industry, Lynne has worked New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco in national and local television, terrestrial and streaming radio and the internet, as well as network and spot cable.

Lynne is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), Cable Advertising Bureau (CAB), Bay Area S.T.A.R. (San Francisco Television, Advertising and Radio), BAARC (Bay Area Advertising Relief Committee) and past member of American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT), Northern California Broadcasters Association (NCBA), Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA), and Advertising Industry Emergency Fund (AIEF).  Committed to giving back to her community, Lynne is also an active volunteer and shameless promoter for Meals of Marin, a non-profit organization that delivers healthy, hot meals to homebound people in need.

On weekends, you might find Lynne with family (including her 102 year old grandmother) and friends at the Bay Area Farmer’s Markets collecting local ingredients to use in her gourmet cooking, or riding through the wine country in search of great finds and perfect picnic spots.
