Maria Bernardo

Maria Bernardo is the Director of Post Production Mastering at A+E Networks, where she oversees the mastering and formatting of acquired, commissioned, original and live content across the A+E brands (A&E, FYI, History, Lifetime and Vice) servicing linear domestic broadcast, international and non-linear platforms.

Maria began her career in cable television as Supervisor of Library Services at Lifetime Television Networks. She was promoted to Manager within 3 years and left the company 2 years later, after accepting an offer to join WCBS News.  Within a year, Lifetime presented her with a unique opportunity that parlayed her leadership skills and creativity into a career transition to editorially-focused work as a Producer. Maria held the position of Director of Format Editing when Lifetime was acquired by A+E in 2010.

Prior to working in television, Maria was a photo researcher, photo editor and account executive for a prestigious stock photo agency and photographers guild. Her earlier experience working in commercial and editorial photography as a makeup artist, stylist and photo assistant helped facilitate her entree into the industry.

Maria grew up on Long Island, New York and studied Classical Voice at The Manhattan School of Music. She currently serves as Co-President on the Board of Directors and sings with The Stamford Chorale, a not-for-profit community choir. In her free time, Maria enjoys watching foreign film, connecting with nature and traveling abroad. Maria lives happily in Connecticut with her husband and three cats.
