Mary Rooney serves as Vice President, Strategic Planning and Communications for Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sales division of Comcast Corporation. Comcast Spotlight works with local, regional and national businesses to reach customers through multi-screen advertising solutions.
At Spotlight, Mary plays an active role in setting the company’s strategic direction as a member of the executive team. She leads the delivery of large-scale systems enhancements and integration projects to support Spotlight’s current products and expand the portfolio. Mary works closely with sales to create an excellent customer experience and drive efficiencies that enable revenue generation. She is also responsible for communicating with audiences who shape Spotlight’s reputation – the company’s employees and the media.
Mary joined Spotlight in 2002 and has spent significant time developing relationships with colleagues within the Comcast and NBC Universal families, allowing Spotlight to maximize the interaction between these businesses. Her understanding of high-level strategy, in conjunction with her energy, passion and business savvy, play a vital role in evolving enterprise-wide projects.
Prior to joining Comcast Spotlight, Mary worked at WorldCom’s business-to-business division in various sales, technology and training positions. She earned a B.A. from New York University. She is a graduate of Women in Cable Television’s (WICT) Rising Leaders, Comcast’s Fundamentals of Leadership, Spotlight’s Women in Leadership and LEAD programs.
