Meghan Ballantyne

Meghan Ballantyne is vice president, content distribution, for Scripps Networks Interactive lifestyle media brands – HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel and Great American Country.  In her role, she manages the network distribution partnerships with Verizon and AT&T. In addition to negotiating content carriage and new media agreements on multiple platforms, she is also responsible for identifying new opportunities for revenue growth and negotiating licensing deals for inflight, cruise, airport, hotel and other out-of-home markets.

 

Ballantyne began her career at Scripps Networks in 1997.   In her first stint with the company (1997-2001), she held various positions in the affiliate sales department, focusing mostly on maximizing distribution for the Scripps Networks’ brands in the Northeast.  She returned to Scripps Networks in 2005 as a regional manager, was promoted to account director and awarded Sales Person of the Year in 2006. She became director, national accounts, for Scripps Networks in 2011.

 

During her time away from Scripps Networks, Ballantyne lived for three years as an expat in Paris, France,   where she worked as a representative for a global relations company, Going-there, and chaired various expatriate programs.  After heading back to the United States in 2004, Ballantyne served as account manager, affiliate sales for Oxygen Media. 

 

Ballantyne has had an ongoing involvement with cable industry associations.  She served as secretary for the Cable Television Association for Marketers’ (CTAM) New York chapter and on the chapter’s board of directors from 2007-2011.  Ballantyne previously served on the Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) New England executive board from 2005-06 and currently is a chapter member of WICT New York, Philadelphia and New England. She has volunteered to mentor in The Young Women’s Leadership Institute in NYC through the WICT New York chapter and was selected for the WICT Rising Leader program in 2011.

 

Ballantyne graduated with honors in 1997 from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies.  She also studied abroad at the University of London, Queen Mary campus, and studied French at the Alliance Francaise in Paris. Ballantyne now lives in New York City with her husband, Garth, and two children, son Colin and daughter Avery.
