Melissa Clark

Melissa Clark is the Director of Business Affairs for Scripps Networks Interactive,  developer of high-profile, lifestyle-oriented content for many media platforms including television, digital, mobile and publishing, with popular lifestyle brands – HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel and country music network Great American Country (GAC).  In this role she is responsible for negotiating talent, license and digital agreements on behalf of Food Network, Cooking Channel and Great American Country and providing strategic oversight.  During her two year tenure with Scripps, she has increased efficiency in multi department agreements and has streamlined the contract workflow process.

Prior to Scripps Networks, Clark held a business affairs role at EMI/Capitol Records and was in private practice in New York City.  At EMI, she worked closely with the A&R, Marketing and Digital departments on new artist initiatives–an extension of her work in private practice, representing musical artists and film producers.
She is a member of the New York Chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), currently serving as a WICT Mentoring Circle Mentor, and was selected as a mentee for the WICT Mentorship Program in 2010.  In 2012, she was nominated to participate in Scripps Networks Interactive’s Foundations of Leadership Program. 

She is a member of the New York and Minnesota State Bar Associations and holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and a law degree from the University of Iowa.  Originally from Minneapolis, she resides in New York City.
