Melissa Cruts is the Manager of Human Resources where she provides strategic leadership and direction to a team of human resources business partners across multiple states responsible for delivering on all human resources functions. Melissa works directly with business leaders and her team to plan, design, and deliver human resources solutions that align strategies and objectives to achieve overall business results and drive a positive employee experience.
Since joining Cox Communications in 2004, Melissa has provided human resources leadership and guidance in areas to include performance management, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, organizational design, and compensation to all segments of the business.
Melissa is a trusted business partner that excels in a matrixed organization to bring creative and engaging people solutions to meet business needs.
Prior to joining Cox Communications, Melissa worked at The Home Depot as a Human Resources Manager where she provided full service Human Resources support. While at The Home Depot, Melissa helped to open 4 new locations focusing on Workforce Planning, Leadership Development, Employee Relations and Safety/Risk Management.
Melissa earned her Master of Arts in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Oklahoma. She has earned both her Senior Professional in Human Resources as well as her SHRM – Senior Certified Professional certifications. Melissa is an active member of the company employee resource groups and serves as the ambassador for the Pride ERG. Melissa is passionate about engaging in her community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Broken Arrow Seniors, Inc. Outside of her work and community involvement, Melissa spends her time with her husband and is actively involved with their eight-year-old daughter and three-year-old son.
