Melissa Jacobson

Melissa Jacobson is director of photo library & digital assets in Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s (TBS, Inc.) Image Management group.  Jacobson’s primary responsibility is oversight of the management, maintenance and preservation of TBS, Inc.’s photography archives, a collection of more than 5 million film and digital images used to support programming, promotion and corporate activity across the Turner portfolio of networks and businesses.  She is based in Atlanta and reports to Christopher Grakal, Vice President of photography & digital asset management.

Jacobson has day-to-day management and operating responsibility for the company’s proprietary digital asset management systems, including ImageSelect, LogoSource and LARI 2000.  This includes the creation and construct of systems designed to ensure efficient access, retrieval and dissemination of materials.  She joined Turner’s Image Management group in 2002 from McKinsey & Company, where she was an information specialist, responsible for research and analysis of the pulp and paper industry.

Jacobson earned a Masters in Library & Information Studies from Clark Atlanta University.  She is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications and Special Libraries Association.
