As Manager of Standards and Practices, Meredith is responsible for ensuring that all of A+E Television Networks’ content meets the standards of good taste and community acceptability, while also allowing creative departments’ original and innovative ideas to flourish. She reviews and oversees all live, scripted, and unscripted programming on A+E’s ten linear networks, all digital platforms and brand sites, as well as partnering with ad sales, social, and marketing departments to review internal and external commercials, promos, print ads, and merchandising. Meredith implements network standards policies for all content on matters of taste, violence, language, sexual material, racial and religious depictions, ethical and controversial issues, while factors such as subject matter, context, audience expectation, time of airing, and rating are all taken into consideration.
Prior to joining A+E in 2011, Meredith worked on both the marketing and sales teams at Greater Talent Network, a speakers’ bureau that specializes in booking politicians, renowned authors, and celebrities on the lecture circuit. She was responsible for developing and executing targeted marketing campaigns, writing press releases, and significant design and written work on marketing materials and client biographies. Meredith also acted as an agent, specializing in booking college speaking engagements for GTN’s prestigious clients.
Meredith has her BA in Public Relations with a minor in Musical Theatre from Hofstra University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her enormous Irish family (she’s one of 26 first cousins alone), and friends. Meredith lives in New York with her husband, Christopher.
