Merrie Beth Salazar is the Director, Marketing Communications for Cox Media, the advertising sales division of Cox Communications. In this role she is responsible for assessing the business environment to identify key marketing opportunities across all Cox Media markets. With a focus on creating the Cox Media brand, Salazar is responsible for a team that leads projects and initiatives that use innovative marketing communications strategies to grow the demand for products and services from advertisers. Highlights of achievements in this role include the ideation and execution of Cox Media’s company-wide Social Media strategy, development and execution of marketing campaigns that reach multiple sales channels and client segments, and strategic visioning for internal communication across the Cox Media organization. Salazar’s most recent work includes developing innovative new strategies that link the marketing goals of our cable network partners with our own business objectives.
Prior to her role as Marketing Director, Salazar served as a Regional Marketing Research Manager, conducting research and analysis to demonstrate the value of our product to local advertisers. Creating data-based strategies that demonstrated Cox Media’s value proposition was a key accountability in this role. In her 10 years at Cox, Salazar has developed into a marketing professional experienced in leading teams and projects to measurable success.
Her achievements are recognized throughout Cox. A three time recipient of Cox’s Media’s CAMY Award, and a 2010 Cox Vision Award winner, Merrie Beth continually uses creativity and analytical thinking to address today’s business issues. She was named to Cox’s Emerging Leaders program as a leader to watch in 2012.
Salazar holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Merrie Beth currently resides in Atlanta, GA with her husband and 3-year old daughter.
