Michele Westman is the Director of Billing Operations for the Northeast Division of Comcast. She has 22 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, joining Comcast in April 2003. As Comcast Director of Billing Operations she manages teams that are responsible for configuration of the billing system and subscriber billing statements as well as a triage team for the Northeast Division. She manages five teams that work out of 11 locations across five states. She has facilitated billing system conversions of over five million subscribers as well as subscriber consolidations and migrations. Her team supports all areas of Comcast’s business, including but not limited to technical operations, customer service, collections, and new product launches. She coordinates mass changes of the billing system, implementing standards that streamline processes, making it easier to implement new technology and processes more quickly, creating efficiencies to best utilize resources, such as call sharing across the regions within the division as well as the company.
Since joining Comcast, Michele also has held positions of Director and Manager of Billing Systems for the Maryland/Delaware/Richmond Region and Director of Billing Systems for the Beltway Region. In these roles, she was responsible for billing system operations and addressability. She coordinated and implemented annual rate events and tax/fee changes based on business, franchise, and regulatory requirements. Her teams were consistently the beta site for new software releases and work force management system deployments. In these roles she also supported several billing system and controller migrations. In 2007 Michele participated in the Comcast Leadership Program Fundamentals of Leadership (FOL).
Prior to Comcast, Michele worked for a cable and satellite contractor and DIRECTV, beginning her professional career at PRIMESTAR by TCI. She actually started her telecommunications career as an intern at TeleWest, a TCI and U.S. West cable joint venture in London.
She graduated from Boston University in 1994 with a bachelor of science in business administration, concentrating in finance and international business.
Michele currently resides in Sunderland, Maryland, a Washington, D.C. suburb, with her husband and three-year-old twin boys.
