Nicole Key is director of media strategies for Scripps Networks Interactive’s Home Category brands: HGTV, DIY Network and Great American Country. Nicole is responsible for the on-air and off-channel media strategies for 3 very different networks. She works with several departments and agencies to identify promotional priorities, develop, implement and maintain effective media strategies to support on-air and off-channel initiatives to increase brand awareness and drive ratings. Nicole oversees all aspects of media, including television promotion, radio, print, OOH, digital, mobile, and social. Most recently she has worked on media strategy campaigns for Property Brothers at Home and Ellen’s Design Challenge.
Nicole graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and began her career in the media industry with a national print company, Consolidated Graphics at Courier Printing in Nashville, TN. She worked for Courier Printing five years before moving back to Knoxville, TN to work for a local affiliate station, WTNZ Fox 43. She learned the basics of the television industry working in customer service and then as a traffic assistant managing commercial inventory. Nicole started her career with Scripps Networks Interactive in 2005 as a traffic assistant before moving into the marketing department a year later. She has worked in the marketing department for over 8 years.
Nicole has been an active member of WICT since 2007 and has volunteered and attended several events including Taste of WICT (Knoxville), mentoring program, cable boot camps, webinars and lunch and learns.
She resides in Knoxville, TN with her husband and son.
