Nikita’s career in networking began over 11 years ago spanning 3 major industries; Higher Education, Finance and Telecommunications.

She began her career as a Help Desk Coordinator, working hard, expanding her technical knowledge, and developing leadership skills.  She progressed through the organization to become the Network Manager and team leader.  After 6 years, she transitioned the financial industry as a consultant with Morgan Stanley.  While at Morgan Stanley, she became an influential Project Manager in their Voice over IP (VoIP) deployment to Smith Barney branches. Here she gained even more expertise on network architecture, transmission, and signaling protocols. In 2012, Nikita accepted the position of functional Project Manager at Time Warner Cable, and later was promoted to manager of the Commercial Implementation and Operations team.

Nikita spends her time staying active by volunteering and participating in activities for several nonprofit organizations.  Some of her volunteer work included participating in the JP Morgan Chase NYC Corporate Challenge run through Central Park in supporting charitable contributions to various nonprofit beneficiaries; specifically the Central Park Conservancy and the American Red Cross.  In 2014 Nikita will participate in "Mudderella" a nonprofit organization empowering women to take pride in their strengths and combating violence against women.

Nikita hopes to use the Rising Leaders experience as a foundation to become involved in NYC STEM support programs.  Nikita hopes to serve as a mentor for young women interest in the technical fields, thus providing a level playing field for future women engineers.
