Pamela Johnson

Pamela Johnson is Manager, Digital Project Management for Scripps Networks Interactive and works out of SNI’s corporate headquarters in Knoxville, Tennessee.  In her current role, she is responsible for coordination of IT project management and project delivery for SNI Digital Operations initiatives, which includes support of front end websites such as Foodnetwork.com, HGTV.com and Travelchannel.com as well as technical project support of associated mobile and video initiatives.  Pamela also maintains primary responsibility for day-to-day operations and business integration with SNI’s preferred CDN (Content Delivery Network).

Pamela came to Scripps Networks from Team Heath where she worked in the Integration Department in Business Operations Project Management.  There she focused on the integration of new acquisitions into the corporate fold specializing in the areas of provider contracting, payroll and accounting.  Prior to Team Health, Pamela worked with SSC Service Solutions, United Parcel Service and Ackermann Public Relations and Marketing in a wide variety of roles to include finance, business process engineering, account management and software development project management.

Pamela received her Bachelor of Science in Advertising Communications from the University of Tennessee and has completed graduate studies toward her MBA from Lincoln Memorial University. Pamela obtained her PMP (Project Management Professional) from PMI in September 2004 and her CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) from Scrum Alliance in 2007.   In recent years, focusing on leadership and team dynamics, Pamela has completed several executive classes at Kellogg School of Management, scheduled to earn her Kellogg Executive Scholar certification in 2012.

Pamela worked as part of the design team that brought HDTV to Home and Garden Television and the Food Network in 2006.  This project won the Broadcast Engineering Award of Excellence in the area of network automation. 

A recipient of the E. W. Scripps President’s Award in 2006, Pamela also served on the Board of Directors for the East Tennessee Chapter of PMI taking on roles of Director of Publicity and VP of Finance from 2005 – 2007. Involved with the WICT Southeast Chapter since 2007, Pam has participated as a mentor in its mentor program since 2009, mentoring various University of Tennessee, School of Communications students as they prepare to graduate from college. As one of several agile champions at Scripps Networks, Pamela speaks at various conferences across the country detailing how Scripps Networks IT is successfully utilizing agile models to efficiently implement digital initiatives.

Pamela, who enjoys running and hiking, completed her first half marathon in 2011 and recently hiked Pacaya, an active volcano located in the highlands of Guatemala.  Pamela currently lives in Knoxville, Tennessee where she maintains home base for her 2 college age daughters.
