Pamela Lloyd

Dr. Pam Lloyd is the Vice President of GCI Government, Healthcare, and Education where she provides strategic leadership for her teams in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.  In this role, she oversees program, sales and business administration for three business unit with GCI, the largest telecommunications in Alaska.

 

Pam is an advocate for equitable broadband access to underserved rural communities, clinics, and schools. She believes it is critical for all to have access to technology in order to be successful in a global and highly-connected marketplace.

 

Prior to joining GCI, Pam spent 15 years as an educator. As the Anchorage School District’s K-12 Instructional Technology Coordinator, Pam provided technology support for teachers and students in 103 schools. She also spent a significant amount of time in the classroom as an elementary teacher and as a middle school technology coordinator, where she gained hands-on understanding of the technology needs of students and educators.

 

Pam has held a number of leadership positions within both state and national organizations including Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration, Alaska Society for Technology in Education and the Coalition for Education Equity of Alaska. She is the recipient of the International Society for Technology in Education Making IT Happen Award and the EdTech Digest Leadership Award.

 

Pam is an author, speaker, and presenter at state, national, and international venues on the intersection of education and technology.

 

Pam holds a Ph.D. in Transformational Leadership in the Digital Age from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and a M.Ed. in Education Leadership and a B.Ed. from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
