Patricia S. Betron is senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, leading advertising revenue growth across four multimedia sales teams located in New York, Chicago and Detroit. Betron also oversees ESPN’s Sales Communication team, with responsibility for business-to-business strategy and client brand experiences, including ESPN’s annual Upfront presentation at the Minskoff Theater. She heads ESPN’s Category Partnership practice, which enables marketers to maximize their investment on ESPN through multiscreen optimization and category-specific insights.
A champion for advertising effectiveness, Betron has collaborated with ESPN Research in the development ESPN XPe — a proprietary cross-platform attribution tool. She also leads the sales team for espnW, a brand focused on women’s sports and female athletes.
Betron has a strong track record in sales and sales marketing, having previously been a vice president and senior director of advertising sales at ESPN. She began her sales career as an account executive at WLS-TV in Chicago. Betron was an early pioneer of selling alternative advertising formats such as cinema and out-of-home for ABC National Sales.
Recognized as a company and industry leader, Betron is the recipient of WICT’s 2016 Wonder Woman Award and The Walt Disney Company CEO Award for leading diversity. She was named one of "The Most Powerful Women in Cable" by CableFax Magazine. Additionally, Betron is a graduate of WICT’s Betsy Magness Leadership Institute and Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Leadership Summit. She is a frequent guest lecturer on media and leadership at Syracuse University, Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University.
Betron graduated Magna Cum Laude from Syracuse University, where she was a multiyear award winner of the highly-selective Gannet Foundation Scholarship as well as the Scripps Howard Foundation Scholarship.
Betron resides in Fairfield, Connecticut with her husband, Cliff, and their two children, Zachary and Hannah.
