Raquel Perez was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico before attending Babson College in Massachusetts where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science with a concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurship. After graduation Raquel joined General Electric – Finance Management Program (FMP) at NBC-Universal in NY. The FMP program is a two year finance entry level training program consisting of four rotational assignments, coursework and interactive seminars. The FMP rotations allowed her to work at CNBC (Fort Lee, NJ), NBC News (NY, NY), Telemundo Networks (Miami, FL) and NBC Pricing (New York, NY) Finance departments. After completion of the FMP program in 2004, she joined the Telemundo Finance team in Miami as a Business Manager overseeing Telemundo Networks revenues which included Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales, and International sales.
In 2006, Raquel joined MTV Networks – Latin America where she started as a Business Finance Manager overseeing all revenue areas for the business – Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales and Digital Media as well as managing the revenue support cost areas such as Research, Marketing, Ad Sales HQ and Affiliate HQ. Viacom has given her the opportunity to grow within the Finance organization. The company has expanded their channel portfolio and multiplatform products as well as its business by combining the US Hispanic market through the Tr3s channel and Viacom Canada to become today Viacom International Media Networks – The Americas cluster. Today, she is the SVP of Finance, managing a team of 10 people in Miami, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. She oversees all financial planning and reporting, budget and estimates finance submissions to Viacom International and prepare executive presentations.
