Sandra Dewey serves as senior vice president, head of business affairs, for Turner Entertainment Networks and Cartoon Network Originals.  In this role, Dewey leads business affairs and production for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) originals, including scripted and unscripted series, long-form limited series, movies, documentaries, specials and comedy festivals, as well as new media and advertiser-sponsored initiatives.  Dewey also leads business affairs for truTV, part of Turner Entertainment Networks, and for Cartoon Network Originals, which is part of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s Animation, Young Adults & Kids Media group (AYAKM).

Dewey is based in Los Angeles and reports to Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks, and to Stuart Snyder, president and chief operating officer of AYAKM.  Dewey also works closely with Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and TCM, and Rob Sorcher, chief content officer for Cartoon Network.

Dewey has been involved with many high-profile projects, most recently as the lead negotiator in the deal to bring Conan O’Brien to TBS – a strategic move felt by many to be a game changer for TBS and cable television. In addition, Dewey arranged deals that resulted in several TNT and TBS original series, including the hugely successful TNT series The Closer,  Rizzoli & Isles, Men of a Certain Age, Memphis Beat, HawthoRNe, Leverage, Dark Blue, Lopez Tonight and My Boys.  Dewey also provided business unit oversight for such TCM projects as the upcoming, multi-part Moguls & Movie Stars: A History of Hollywood and for truTV projects like Black Gold and Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura.

Previously, Dewey was senior vice president of TNT Originals, and has been with Turner and Warner Bros in various legal positions for over 16 years. Prior to that, she was an associate at the law firm Greenberg Glusker, where she worked closely with Bert Fields.

When not in the office, Dewey is part of the leadership of Los Angeles’ Turner Women Today – a resource and mentoring group for Turner women in the workplace, and is involved with the charitable foundation Fresh stART. All of her remaining time and energy is devoted to her two daughters, Charlie and Pearl.
