Sandra Weicher

When Sandy Weicher started in cable in an entry level role, she was responsible for keeping only one person happy – her boss. Now, 15 years later, she’s responsible for the satisfaction of more than 465,000 customers and 700 employees as the vice president for Comcast Greater Chicago Region’s South Area, which encompasses Chicagoland’s South Suburbs, through Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan. Fifteen years of tenacity and passion for the cable industry has helped her carve a successful career but it is her unique background that touches upon virtually every aspect of the industry that has made her a natural leader in the field. Weicher’s career is rooted in the frontlines of cable where she handled customer calls, dispatched technicians and worked at the service counter. She quickly got the technical background to move into field operations, giving her a diverse background that is invaluable to customers and employees alike. Her customer service experience was formed in the performing arts industry and she also has accounting experience having worked in a very popular local family destination. This varied experience helped her win the first annual "Breaking the Mold" award from the Chicago Chapter of Women in Cable in 2004. She also has had first-hand knowledge in launching the latest home entertainment technologies, including Digital Cable, Video ON DEMAND, High Definition Television, Comcast Digital Phone Service and Comcast High Speed Internet. Soon she will spearhead the launch of Comcast Digital Voice, the company’s internet-protocol phone service for the South Area. Recently, Sandy oversaw the building of the Comcast’s biggest technical operations facility. Not only is the project a state-of-the art facility that boasts the latest technology for employees, but it is also an economic engine for the local community and was recently recognized with the Economic Development Award from the Southland Chamber of Commerce. Weicher and her husband are the parents of two children. They reside in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
