Sara Barnhart is Counsel for Cox Communications, supporting the Product, Sales, and Marketing teams, which covers a range of businesses, including internet, video, phone, home automation and security, managed cloud, remote patient monitoring, and other new business ventures. In this role, Sara provides legal counsel in a variety of areas, including advertising compliance and disputes, claims development and substantiation, promotional activities and relationships, pricing, and other sales and customer-facing legal issues. Before joining Cox, Sara served as outside and in-house counsel for numerous other global businesses, where she provided guidance on a broad range of legal issues to support the innovation and sale of new and existing products, including drafting and negotiating international transactions, intellectual property protection, licensing, data privacy and security, compliance, and other areas of commercial law.
Sara earned her Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Georgia Honors Program and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she was a Notes Editor of the Georgia Law Review. Sara is a UGA football fan and enjoys running, CrossFit, and tennis. Sara lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and daughter and is looking forward to welcoming a new baby to the family later this summer.
