Sara Flynn serves as Director
of Compensation and Talent Planning at Charter Communications. In this role,
she is responsible for the development, execution and maintenance of a broad
range of programs and initiatives.
Among her accomplishments,
Sara has managed the automation of key processes, including the annual salary
increase and performance evaluation processes and market pricing efforts. With
each project, she helped create a diverse team of individuals and third-party
vendors to achieve the required goals. Additionally, she helped migrate
Charter’s long-term incentive program to a new vendor, resulting in a greatly
improved online tool for employees.
Preparing for her career, Sara
earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Missouri State University in
Springfield. Shortly thereafter, she accepted a position as staff accountant at
a local CPA firm. In 1987, she joined Continental Cablevision as a staff
accountant at the company’s regional office.
In 1994, Sara was recruited
by Charter, where she served as Assistant Controller in the accounting
department and later as Financial Analyst. During acquisitions, she led accounting
teams to assess the new companies and their culture, and worked closely with
the legal department to calculate and negotiate final cost true-ups with the
seller.
In 2003, Sara left Charter to
join Suddenlink Communications/Cequel III as Assistant Controller, helping to build
and manage the company’s accounting department. She returned to Charter in 2008
as Senior Compensation Analyst, which led to her current role.
Sara has a daughter, Megan,
and resides in Fenton, Missouri, near St. Louis.
