Sara Godwin serves as Manager of Digital Distribution and Partnerships for Discovery Communications. She is responsible for driving growth across Discovery’s digital media offerings, including both television and digital brands, by creating and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with partners. Sara has been recognized for innovation and excellence in her role, which is primarily focused on building value for Discovery through the development and execution of distribution strategies, and on growing existing and new business partnerships with distributors.
Prior to joining Discovery, Sara graduated with a Masters in Business Administration from Duke University. During her time at Duke, she worked with Twentieth Century Fox, Full Frame Film Festival, and an independent film on strategic projects. Upon graduation, Sara received a leadership award for her efforts as the President of the Media, Entertainment, and Sports career association.
Before starting her studies at Duke, Sara spent five years working in management consulting in Washington, DC. While working as a consultant, she provided project management, strategy, and marketing expertise to drive innovative business solutions for large government agencies.
Sara completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Management, Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and minor in Communications at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Sara has also studied and worked internationally, and produced a sports documentary in her free time. She enjoys cooking, traveling, volunteering, and attending sporting events.
