Sara Keller

As the Director of Programming & Scheduling at Nat Geo WILD, I am responsible for the strategic planning and creation of the schedule.  I work closely with Marketing, Communications, Production, Digital, Ad & Affiliate Sales, International and Network Operations, communicating all Programming updates and priorities. I play an integral role in the shaping and implementation of the long term program strategy and work to identify programming needs that drive series and specials development. As a key member of the greenlight team, I evaluate program concepts, acquisitions, talent and participate in the development of projects.  Additionally, I manage the creative titling process of all series and episode titles – a tough job but somebody’s gotta do it!

In addition to my day to day responsibilities, I developed and Executive Produced the Fish Bowl and Fish Bowl II –  a counterprogramming event to the Super Bowl and Puppy Bowl. The stunt generated great press and buzz for the network, helping drive brand awareness for WILD.  I have also overseen the production of four seasons of WILD’s second highest rated series The Incredible Dr. Pol: Deja MOO!, an enhanced version of The Incredible Dr. Pol that adds behinds the scenes information and facts about the episode.

Prior to joining National Geographic in 2012, I spent five years at Discovery Networks International in Programming where I got to work with regional Schedulers around the world, as well as with the Programming and Production teams at Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Science Channel, Military Channel and Velocity.

A Maryland native and DC resident, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2006 where I majored in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Radio, TV & Film.

I am looking forward to meeting many of you soon!
