Sara Schwankl leads the Program Management team that supports Comcast’s Video On Demand Ingest architecture, software development, and operations teams. In this role, Sara develops and directs Project Managers in Agile software delivery practices and processes. She and her team is are responsible for leading cross-functional teams, working iteratively by adapting to changing requirements; measuring and evaluating results; providing visibility for stakeholders; setting focus and priority for teams, and continually working towards a DevOps model. She is always looking to build relationships, improve processes, reduce risk, increase speed and efficiency of delivery and deployments and fosters innovative ideas.
Under Sara’s leadership, Comcast’s Unified Ingest team has undergone process transformation including aligning priorities from senior leadership, creating process consistencies with internal teams and operations, capturing metrics, accelerating deployments, reducing defects and increasing reliability of delivery dates to stakeholders that impact the overall customer experience.
Prior to joining Comcast in 2012, Sara served as a Project Manager for a Non-Profit, Health Team Works. There she managed committees of Health Care Professionals to create 22 separate Primary Care Prevention Guidelines for the state of Colorado. Her passion for process improvement and the prevention of childhood and adult obesity in Colorado was highlighted by the opportunity to travel the state giving presentations and helping practices implement process changes incrementally and iteratively in their offices.
