Sarah Gitchell is Assistant General Counsel and Chief Counsel, Content Acquisition, at Comcast Cable Communications. Sarah provides legal services to the Content Acquisition group, which licenses billions of dollars of content each year. While at Comcast, Sarah has been the lead attorney on a wide variety of deals, ranging from multi-billion dollar contracts with large media companies to single station retransmission consent deals, in addition to video-on-demand deals with a broad assortment of content owners. Sarah also manages litigation and policy issues that touch the Content Acquisition group, including program carriage complaints. Sarah joined Comcast Cable in 2005 as Senior Counsel.
Before becoming a part of Comcast Cable’s legal department, Sarah was an associate in the Corporate and Securities group at Dechert LLP in Philadelphia, where she focused on mergers and acquisitions, in addition to securities work. Prior to joining Dechert, Sarah worked full time at Freeman’s Auction House while attending law school in the evenings at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. Sarah earned her B.A. in Art History with a minor in French from the University of Pennsylvania.
Sarah lives in Philadelphia, PA with her husband and two young daughters. To stay in shape when she’s not chasing after her daughters, Sarah teaches aerobics a few times a week.
