Sasha Cohen is an icon in the sport of figure skating but also holds worldwide influence in other realms. Sasha is a two time Olympian and Olympic silver medalist, three-time World medalist, 2002 Grand Prix Final champion and the 2006 U.S. champion. In 2002, she performed at the Golden Jubilee of Elizabeth II to celebrate the queen of England’s 50-year reign. Sasha took a four-year break after the 2006 Olympics to pursue other opportunities, including skating tours, modeling and acting. During her competitive hiatus, Sasha studied for a semester with the intensive Moscow Art Theater at Harvard University, made appearances as well as played roles in Project Runway, Hell’s Kitchen, Las Vegas, CSI New York, Blades of Glory, and Moondance Alexander. She returned to competitive skating in the 2009-10 season with the goal of making the 2010 U.S. Olympic Team.
Sasha is as an ambassador for her charities, including Figure Skating in Harlem, where she serves on the board. Recognizing that young people are influenced by what they see in public, Sasha strives to be a positive role model. Her autobiography "Fire On Ice," published by HarperCollins after her second Olympic Games, is a testament to Sasha’s disciplined lifestyle. The book sold out of its hardback printing while soft cover was in high demand well before its release date. Sasha was an "Inside Edition" correspondent at the Academy Awards, an Olympic Analyst for Good Morning America and Yahoo Sports, and a speaker at Columbia University’s TEDx conference. In 2016, Sasha graduated Magna Cume Laude from Columbia University with a degree in Political Science. She currently resides in NYC and is the Head Of Content for ZIG – a Media Based startup.
