In January of 2013 Shane was appointed as Vice President, Engineering for the California Region. In this role, Shane is responsible for the oversight, guidance, direction, and vision for all Technical Engineering aspects throughout the Comcast California footprint.
Prior to transferring to California, Shane served as the Vice President of Engineering-XOC in Comcast’s Central Division. In that role, Shane was responsible for a team of 350 employees. Before that, Shane was the Sr. Director of National Network Operations for Comcast’s NE&TO organization. He has also served as Comcast’s Director of IP Operations as well as the Manager of Network Capacity Planning and Operations Manager for then-operator AT&T Broadband. Shane began his career in cable as a Learning and Development Trainer under TCI, where he trained over 800 Technical Support Consultants on troubleshooting and how to effectively analyze high speed data networks.
With more than 17 years of industry experience, Shane has the right background and experience to lead the Region 1 efforts. In addition to his professional background, Shane holds a Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State College, as well as completing post graduate programs from Regis University, Denver University and Notre Dame University. He is currently enrolled at Stanford University.
He is also a former Platoon Sergeant and Leadership Instructor for the U.S. Army and successfully completed several of the Army’s Leadership Courses, Officer Candidate School, and Senior Leadership Courses.
Shane has a genuine passion for the cable business and the pursuit of next generation technical leaders.
Shane lives in the Bay Area with his wife and two sons.
