Shannon MacNeilage is an Art Director at Nickelodeon where she is responsible for directing the design, development and execution of the graphic branding for the channel. A 10-year veteran at Nickelodeon, Shannon has an in-depth knowledge of the brand. She has created graphics for a broad spectrum of projects including seasonal channel branding, show launches, live events, social content and show opens.
Her ongoing challenge is breathing new life into the channel’s properties by finding fresh ways to represent them. This is facilitated by her deep understanding of the evolving climate of pop culture and its effect on the channel’s target audience. Graphics must resonate with the kid demographic while keeping the “funny” at the heart of the matter. As part of the graphics development process Shannon collaborates heavily with the producing and writing teams to ensure a focused vision for every project. While working with both in-house graphics teams as well as out-of-house vendors, Shannon’s mission is to effectively communicate this vision and to keep every project relevant and on brand. Her work has won several awards including an Emmy nomination.
Shannon hails from Austin, Texas. She earned her BA in Art History and Italian from Smith College in Massachusetts and her MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design in New York. She resides in Brooklyn where she enjoys exploring the vibrant culinary options. Shannon returns back to Austin frequently, but also loves traveling to new places, especially anywhere with a coastline.
