Shari Smith is Senior Manager on the Operations Compliance team in the Cable Legal organization at Comcast. She joined Comcast in March 2016 and has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Shari is currently working on several initiatives that support the department’s mission of ensuring that Comcast is doing business ethically and in accordance with the law. She is specifically tasked with assisting in the identification of compliance risks throughout the business and gathering the information necessary to develop a compliance framework to address the risks and gaps through process improvement and the implementation of new programs as necessary.
Prior to Comcast, Shari worked for Verizon for 20+ years. During her time with Verizon, she worked in a variety of departments – from business/financial planning, to product management, to regulatory affairs and lobbying. She served as the primary contact for several state agencies and organizations in Delaware. Her various roles required her to interface and support senior executives, manage the detailed nuances within intricate regulatory proceedings and smoothly interface with multiple organizations including legal, operations, finance and treasury.
Shari graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with honors and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. She resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania with her two girls. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and a glass of good red wine.
