Sloan Kennedy

Sloan Kennedy is a strategic business driver in the cable and telecommunications industry – delivering ROI for both her company and clients by building and leading teams to become valued business partners.

During her 20+ years in the cable industry, Sloan has combined her strategy, execution, and leadership skills with in-depth knowledge of the network distribution and subscription business to transform divisions and deliver results in a volatile marketplace.

As Vice President of Domestic Network Distribution for HBO, Sloan created the strategy that stopped the distributor’s subscription loss; she designed a marketing initiative that drove overall channel results to 80% of the distributor’s total upgrades; and she led high-level meetings across verticals to craft a new offer strategy for mid-term contract negotiations.

Prior to Warner Media and HBO, she was Vice President of Affiliate Sales for Tech TV and she also held positions at Encore Media, The Weather Channel, and E! Entertainment Television.

Sloan is dedicated to the cause of building future leaders for the industry, and with HBO she has had a strong influence in building a solid global brand. In her leadership capacity, she has touched multiple disciplines, interfaced across the organization and the industry, and helped in positioning the company for a new marketplace.

She is a member of the the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), and The WICT Network – and in 2007, she was named a Fellow of The WICT Network Betsy Magness Leadership Institute. Outside of the business arena, she has served as a trustee on the board of directors of the Atlanta Ballet, and currently remains on the honorary board. Sloan is currently serving on the board of Girl Talk Inc., a global organization that inspires middle and high school girls to be confident leaders through peer-to-peer mentoring. Sloan is also committed to her local community circles, and is extremely active at her church and children’s school.

Sloan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hollins College in Roanoke, VA and has studied internationally at the Southern Methodist University in Spain.
