Soheila Ataei brings 20 years of Human Resources leadership to her position as Vice President, Human Resources, for Starz Media, LLC. In that position, Ms. Ataei oversees the full range of HR responsibilities, including talent acquisition, hiring, employee development, systems integration, payroll management and more for 800 union and non-union, as well as permanent and freelance employees of a dynamic, growing, multi-media company with offices on both coasts and in Canada.
Starz Media, a division of Starz, LLC, which itself is a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Media, is a production and distribution company, a complement to the premium cable channels of Starz Entertainment: Starz and Encore. Among the familiar companies under Starz Media are Overture Films, Starz Home Entertainment (including the Anchor Bay Entertainment and Manga Entertainment labels), Film Roman, as well as Starz Productions and more. She reports directly to Starz Media President and COO Kent Rice.
Prior to joining Starz Media earlier this year, she was Vice President of Human Resources for G4 Media, a Comcast-owned 24/7 Television network focusing on new media and video games. She supported 350 fulltime employees, plus a large pool of temporary production crews.
Before that, she was Vice President of Human Resources for Universal Television Group, which was later known as Studios USA. There she oversaw a full range of HR responsibilities, including the integration of new employees and payroll systems as a result of several corporate acquisitions. Previously, she was a Director of Human Resources for Playboy Entertainment, and the architectural/engineering/planning firm of A.C. Martin Partners.
A native of Iran, Ms. Ataei received her BA in English at the College of Languages in Tehran. She has been certified in Women in Cable Telecommunication’s Executive Development Seminar, is a member of WICT, and was recognized as one of the 2006 Most Influential Minorities in Cable by HR Notables.
