Sonya Dore

Sonya Dore is Sr. Director of Video Business Operations at Comcast Cable where she is responsible for leading strategic content initiatives including Advanced Services Gating for all platforms, Upsell and PPV operations.  Sonya is partnering to define Unified Content Workflow business operations rules to improve the customer experience as they consume content on a growing number of devices.

Prior to joining the VBU Ops team, Sonya managed several interactive TV applications through the product lifecycle, from initiation to successful product launch.  She also led the program management efforts for a large portfolio of projects within the Enterprise PMO across multiple lines of business including Business Services and New Businesses over a 4 year period.  During her 10 year tenure at Comcast, Sonya has consistently built strategic partnerships within the technical organizations to drive delivery.

Before joining Comcast in 2002, Sonya was the Operations Manager at the Inflow Inc. data center in Philadelphia, seeing it from construction through to profitability and acquisition by SunGard. In her first job after college, Sonya spent 7 years at the Naval Surface Warfare Center as a chemical engineer, working on various initiatives to support the US Naval Fleet. She developed a passion for world travel and gained a more global perspective in the process.

Sonya is committed to professional development both for herself and for others.  She is an active Women In Cable Telecommunications (WICT) member and was recently named a Class XXVII participant of the organization’s Betsy Magness Leadership Institute.  Sonya mentors through WICT and other Comcast programs and is a founding member of the Comcast Toastmaster’s chapter which was formed in 2011. 

Sonya graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in chemical engineering. She completed her MBA at Villanova University in 2002 and obtained her J.D at Widener School of Law in 2009.  Sonya uses her law degree to volunteer her services as a child advocate for the Support Center for Child Advocacy in Philadelphia and is embarking on her second year of board service to the Main Line Art Center in Haverford, PA as the chair of the Development Committee.  Sonya lives in Radnor, PA with her husband, two children and two dogs. In her limited free time she plays as much soccer as possible and reads when she should be sleeping.
