Stacey Lager is Director, Business and Legal Affairs – Digital Content Development at Discovery. In this position, Stacey advises on the development and structuring of strategic digital business relationships across brands and multi-platform distribution outlets (websites, social media platforms, OTT, streaming services, and applications). She spearheaded the development and structuring of Scripps Lifestyle Experts – a pilot program for network-held digital talent – and is currently responsible for the development, acquisition and distribution of content on Genius Kitchen, SNI’s new all-digital lifestyle brand. Stacey handles the day-to-day legal issues that arise for SNI’s Digital Brands Group (digital platforms for Food Network, HGTV, Cooking Channel, Genius Kitchen, Travel Channel, and DIY) and oversees the negotiation and drafting of complex corporate and commercial transactions such as technology/IT agreements, content acquisition agreements, license agreements, partnership agreements, digital content distribution agreements, advertising agreements, talent agreements, production agreements, and vendor agreements.
Prior to joining SNI, Stacey was Vice President, Associate General Counsel at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc., where she was responsible for the development and structuring of MSLO’s strategic business relationships in the entertainment, media and merchandising industries.
Stacey has spent her entire career in the entertainment industry – as a lawyer and a non-lawyer – and her focus has been on music, television and tech/digital entertainment companies.
Stacey received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her JD from New York Law School.
