is
Founder, Susan Ennis Media Strategists in New York City,
consulting for domestic and global media companies. 

 

Formerly,
Ennis was the Executive Vice President, Program Strategy & Planning at Home
Box Office (HBO) where she worked for over 30 years.  Named to the
position in 2009, Ennis oversaw three groups for HBO/Cinemax: Strategic
Planning & Operations for Original Programming; Program & Promotion
Scheduling for all HBO/Cinemax linear and digital channels; and HBO’s Consumer
Insights & Analytic team. Under Ennis’ leadership, she developed innovative
programming scheduling strategies, advised senior management on key consumer
trends and viewing behavior.

 

Ennis
joined HBO in 1982 in the Market Research department before transitioning into
Original Programming and Program Planning in 1992. Prior to her employment at
HBO, Ennis held research positions at Grey Advertising and Dancer Fitzgerald
Sample.

 

She
earned a BA in Art History from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Columbia
University.

 

Ennis
is a trustee of the Manhattan School of Music, a member of the National
Committee for the Make-Believe Association of Chicago, and a Director of the
International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.  Her other
professional memberships include BAFTA, ATAS, AFI, and NYWIFT. She is married
to Owen Lewis, M.D., a clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia as well as
a published poet. The couple lives on the Upper West Side of New York City, and
Venice, Italy.
