Swetha Srivastava

Swetha Srivastava was born and raised in a middle-class family that followed the Hindu way of living virtuously and righteously in a small town located in Telangana, Southern India. Her father was a mechanical engineer, and her mother was a home maker. There was very little awareness on how the West was progressing.

Swetha’s parents ensured that she and her siblings received the best education they could afford. She notes that her parents didn’t see a difference between raising a girl and a boy, even though others at that time would only send boys to the school and not invest in a girl’s education. As a child she saw her parents hard work ethic to make ends meet, which motivated her to excel academically.

Focusing heavily on her academics was her way of giving back to her parents. Swetha was accepted into Engineering college and finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru University, located in Hyderabad, India. Following her graduation, she worked for nearly four years in IT in India and then headed to the U.S. with her husband in 2007.

Swetha came to the U.S. and obtained a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. She describes herself as an analytical, innovative and results-oriented professional with more than 15 years of experience spanning through various facets of IT and business. Her experience includes:

Partnering with businesses to set direction on how technology can accelerate business strategies.

Being highly skilled in providing Enterprise and Solution Architectures, leadership across broad systems and software technologies for Master Data Management, Data Warehouse and Data Analytics groups.

Swetha loves leading and serving her team and others. She also teaches and mentors women from various backgrounds who aspire to be in, or who are new to IT. Swetha and her husband have two sons, aged 10 and four. They love to spend time with each other by cooking, reading, and having movie nights.
