Tania Linares is Counsel of Business and Legal Affairs for Viacom International Media Networks – The Americas where she advises the company’s production, programming, digital, music, talent, marketing and advertising sales departments for the Nickelodeon, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central and Tr3s programming services on a broad range of legal and business issues and negotiates and drafts a wide-array of entertainment contracts.
Prior to joining Viacom, Ms. Linares served as In-House Counsel for Dolphin Entertainment and Dolphin Digital Media. There, she was the sole legal practitioner and managed general legal corporate governance while also drafting and negotiating all production, financing, sales and licensing agreements.
Ms. Linares received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, Philosophy and Business Law from the University of Miami where she graduated with summa cum laude honors and subsequently attended the University of Miami School of Law where she received a Juris Doctorate with cum laude honors. During law school, she interned at Sony Pictures Television, Yahoo! Latin America and MTV Networks Latin America.
Ms. Linares currently resides in Miami, Florida and is an active member of the South Florida Group of Regional Counsel, the South Florida Women In-House Counsel Group and the Entertainment and Sports Law Society of the American Bar Association.
