Terry Blevins is vice president of finance and ad operations for The Weather Channel Interactive, a position she has held since joining The Weather Channel, an Landmark Communications owned entity, in November of 1999. She is responsible for TWCi’s financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls and accounting issues. Additionally, she manages the business analytics group which maintains the systems for TWCi’s audience management, ad serving, inventory and order entry areas. She also oversees the ad operations department which is responsible for advertiser creative services, order entry, trafficking and billing. Her accomplishments include the successful launch of a new creative service department in 2003 to assist ad clients with creative conception and technical rich media implementation. She also lead an automation initiative for order entry which has provided a 200% improvement in the amount of customers and orders handled per employee. She reports directly to Joe Fiveash, Senior Vice President and General Manager of The Weather Channel Interactive. Previously, she had been general manager of The Flagship, the Landmark-owned military newspaper in Norfolk, VA, a position she held from January to November of 1999. From 1996 to 1999, Ms. Blevins was Controller of The Virginia Pilot, Inc., Landmark’s metropolitan newspaper in Norfolk. Prior to that, she was director of Finance for Landmark Communications, Norfolk. Other previous experience include: director of financial analysis for TeleCable, a Norfolk, VA-related Landmark entity; assistant controller of American MicroTrace in Virginia Beach, VA; financial analyst for GE Plastics (earlier known as Borg Warner Chemicals) in Pittsfield, MA; and internal auditor for Springs Industries in Lancaster, SC. Currently, Terry resides in Marietta, Georgia with her husband, Chuck Herring and their three children. She is active in scouting and enjoys gardening and the opera. A native of Dale City, VA, Ms. Blevins earned a B.S. in accounting at Virginia Tech and went on to receive a Masters of Accountancy at Virginia Tech. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
