Teryl Brown is a Vice President of Advertising Sales at MTV Networks, representing the recognized brands of Nick @ Nite & TV Land. She co-manages the New York office of Account Executives who handle $300 million dollars in Ad Sales revenue for Nick @ Nite & TV Land. Additionally, she presents the channels to agencies and clients, and assists in the management and implementation of the networks’ quarterly and annual sales strategies for over $400 million of sales revenue.
Teryl began her career in 1987 at Financial Network News (FNN) as an Advertising Sales Assistant. In 1989, Teryl joined NBC Cable in New York as an Advertising Sales Associate where she developed and analyzed sales plans, presentations, and revenue projections. In 1992, Teryl joined Discovery Communications, Inc. where she enjoyed a 10 year career working on recognized branded networks such as: Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Travel Channel & Discovery Health. As an Account Executive, Teryl developed long-term strategies for clients and aggressively targeted new advertisers to help grow the company’s revenue. Her continuous efforts and hard work resulted in her consistently exceeding annual revenue goals that earned her a DCI All Star Award in 1997 and she was a member of the sales team which was honored by Sales & Marketing Management Magazine as one of the Top 25 Sales Forces in 1999.
Teryl is regarded as a dedicated professional with strong integrity and a top performer who thrives on the success of others’ growth. She is a member of the MTVN Mentoring Program and MTVN Diversity Committee. Teryl holds a BA in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University, in New Jersey and is a lifelong New Jersey native.
