Theresa Black

Theresa Black currently serves as Director of Publicity for Lifetime. Based in Los Angeles, she is responsible for overseeing and launching publicity campaigns across both unscripted and scripted series for the network. Her extensive experience includes launching the critically-acclaimed series UnREAL, which went on to garner AFI, Peabody, and Critics’ Choice Awards, along with an Emmy® nod. Black has also spearheaded campaigns for the highly successful Little Women franchise, including Little Women: LA, Atlanta and Terra’s Little Family.

 

Black joined Lifetime in 2009, and went on to launch the network’s pop-culture sensation, Dance Moms, as well as hit movies, including V.C. Andrews’ Flowers in the Attic and Petals on the Wind. Prior to joining the network, Black worked at mPRm Communications, serving as Account Supervisor. While there, she worked on successful New Line Home Entertainment releases, including Wedding Crashers, Snakes on a Plane and The Golden Compass. In addition, she launched television projects such as Animal Planet’s, Whale Wars Season One and PBS’ docu-series, Carrier.

 

Black began her career at Sue Procko Public Relations, where she was an Account Executive specializing in home entertainment and events. During her tenure there, she spearheaded campaigns for Anchor Bay Entertainment’s DVD releases of 21 Jump Street, Watcher in the Woods and Three’s Company

 

Black holds a Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theater, with a minor in Psychology from The University of Nevada, Reno. Black attended the American Conservatory of Theater, San Francisco and she’s been a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, since 2013.
