A leader in scaling, transforming, and optimizing global organizations, Theresa Hennesy has driven numerous advancements in the telecom and cable industry. An expert connector and collaborator, Theresa builds high-performance teams by bringing together disparate groups and disciplines to achieve strategic goals and unprecedented innovation on multimillion-dollar programs. An unwavering advocate of the customer experience, Theresa’s transformations of culture and talent have led to improved service performance along with reductions in costs. She is currently on the board of Somos, Inc, a leading registry management and data solutions company.
As Senior Vice President and Group Technology Advisor with the Fortune 50 Comcast Corporation, Theresa managed strategic roadmaps for large-scale initiatives representing the next generation of IP platforms. She accelerated technology development through the mass adoption of Lean & Agile DevOps methodologies. She led technical operations and efforts that spanned all functions of the company’s Engineering and Platform Services organization.
During her tenure as interim Chief Information and Security Officer (CISO), Theresa gained significant domain expertise in security strategy. She was accountable for risk management, cyber NOC operations, and forensic investigations, and was responsible for the protection of customers, employees, company assets, technology infrastructure, and brand.
Theresa’s prior roles include SVP of Network Operations at Vonage, SVP, Technical Operations at VeriSign, SVP, Internet Operations at Cable & Wireless USA, and various leadership positions over 20 years with MCI.
Theresa currently serves on the Board of Directors for Somos, Inc., a privately-held telecommunications firm that is leading registry management and data solutions company.
Theresa has a passionate commitment to promoting STEM education for women and girls and mentoring women in technology. She is on the board of the Washington DC/Baltimore chapter of Women in Cable & Telecommunications, and a non-profit focused on developing women leaders. In 2016, Theresa was honored with the cable industry award for Women in Technology and was named by Cablefax Magazine as one of the 2016 Most Powerful Women in Cable. In November 2015, Theresa Hennesy, Comcast, was presented with the 2015 Educator Award by the WICT Philadelphia Chapter in recognition of to assist women and young girls in achieving their potential for themselves and their company. Also, she was recognized by Multichannel magazine with its 2015 Women in Technology honor, and she was named as one of the 2014 “100 Diverse Corporate Leaders” by STEMConnector.
Theresa serves as a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). She is a graduate of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute and the Wharton School of Business Women’s Executive Program.
