Vanessa Anthes is the Senior Operations Manager for ESPN Productions, primarily focusing on X Games events, the world’s premier action sports competition and brand. The X Games is ESPN’s largest annual domestic production. In this role she works as part of the team responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the venue construction and management. Examples of this include: design, scheduling, guest services, crowd control, venue construction, public safety and state/local permitting. Some of her duties include serving as event operations lead for Winter X Games, event permitting, budget tracking, event staffing and logistical planning for all events. Vanessa has been a member of the Operations department for 11 years. During that time the X Games was honored with a National Gala Award in 2005 from Special Events Magazine for Best Achievement in Logistics and in 2011 the Winter X Games was a finalist for Sports Business Journal’s Event of the Year.
A native of Colorado, Vanessa resides in Carbondale, CO serving as the main liaison for the Winter X Games in Aspen. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University.
Vanessa enjoys all things outdoors with her husband; camping, skiing, biking, hiking, and is quickly becoming addicted to CrossFit. She is active in her community, serving on the Leadership Development board of the Buddy Program as well as volunteering as a Big Buddy, serving on the board of her Homeowners Association and is a member of Compassion International.
