Veronica Sheehan

​Veronica Sheehan is a celebrated senior executive with notable experience in global media operations, strategic planning, change management and continuous improvement.

 

In her most recent role at Turner Broadcasting as SVP Global Network, Technology and Studio Operations, Veronica had executive oversight of U.S. Network Operations, International Technology and Operations for Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa, as well as the company’s in-house production and post-production division, Turner Studios.  Her teams around the globe were responsible for multi-platform content operations, ad sales support, technical systems design, development and maintenance, live-event/in-studio sports production and production of promotional content for Turner’s global network of brands including TNT, TBS, truTV, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Boomerang, and NBAtv.

 

During her 16-year career at Turner, Veronica was relied upon for her operational and technical leadership, her exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, her strategic leadership and insight, her ability to create a contagious vision and as a change agent who could drive continuous improvement and collaboration across the company.  Veronica was recruited to Turner Broadcasting in 1999 from her role as Director of Operations/Division Services for National Video Center/Recording Studios in NYC.

 

Veronica earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Journalism from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY and currently serves on the President’s Council, advising the college on the evolution of the cable and broadcast industry.  She is a relentless mentor and is the founding chair of Turner Broadcasting’s award winning business resource group, Turner Women Today, whose mission is to inspire, encourage and empower women to achieve their full career potential. She has been an active member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE), Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE).   In 2002, WICT inducted her into the prestigious Betsy Magness Leadership Institute and in 2010; WICT named her the industry "Woman to Watch."   For several years, Veronica has served as the National Chapter Advisor for the WICT Atlanta/Southeast Chapter and was named 2008 WICT "Chapter Advisor of the Year."  Every year since 2006, CableFax has named her one of "the most powerful women in technology".  In 2007, she was named to Atlanta Woman Magazine’s "25 Power Women Awards" list and that same year also received WICT Atlanta’s "Red Letter Catalyst Award" for Woman in Technology.  In 2011, she was awarded "Mother of the Year" by Working Mother magazine and was also awarded the "Champion for Success" by Dress for Success Atlanta.  In 2012, Woman in Technology (WIT) named Sheehan a finalist for the Women of the Year in Technology award.  Most recently she has been featured in the book DARE: Straight Talk on Confidence, Courage and Career for Women in Charge.

 

Veronica currently lives in Marietta, Georgia with her son.  As an Adoptive Mother, Veronica is a contributor/expert for SheKnows.com where she shares her stories on the joys and realities of being a single mother by choice to an active young boy.  She is also a proud board member for Make-A-Wish Georgia whose mission is to grant heartfelt wishes to children with life threatening medical conditions.
