Virginia Moon

As the Managing Editor of Special Projects for HGTV at Scripps Networks Interactive, Virginia Moon crafts online editorial strategies to support inspiration and innovation in the home category. She is the editorial curator of the insanely popular HGTV Dream Home Giveaway, and she oversees the content development for several of Scripps largest annual initiatives, in addition to numerous other projects for HGTV.com and DIYNetwork.com. As a digital journalism and home category professional, she is keenly interested in how online experiences and brands can provide consumers with approachable and creative ways to live better at home.

 

Prior to joining Scripps Networks Interactive in 2011, Virginia worked on an assortment of print publications, including National Geographic Kids Magazine and Knoxville Metro Pulse. In the digital space,  she executed editorial initiatives for many popular Time Inc. brands, including MyRecipes.com, Southern Living, Cooking Light, Coastal Living, and All You.

 

In addition to building a career in media, Virginia has gained experience in the hospitality and higher education industry. She managed marketing efforts for Blackberry Farm, an award-winning luxury hotel. Virginia has a passion for higher education, which is exemplified through her work at the University of Tennessee where she’s lectured on computer-mediated communication and organized communication efforts for the College of Engineering, a nationally-ranked program. 

 

Virginia holds a Bachelor’s of Art in Communication Studies, a Bachelor’s of Science in Journalism and Electronic Media and a Master’s of Science in Communication Studies from the University of Tennessee.
