Vonya Alleyne has been Vice President, People Solutions for Cox Communications, Virginia since 2013. She leads a talented and innovative team of HR professionals who support the Virginia Region with employee and labor relations, talent and performance management, safety, risk and employee lifecycle initiatives. Vonya initially joined Cox in 2007 as Director, Human Resources for Cox’s Northern Virginia operation.
In October 2019, WICT Washington, DC/Baltimore Chapter recognized her for her contributions to cable and telecommunications industry by giving her the Touchstones of Leadership Listen award. As founding and immediate Past President of NAMIC Virginia, Vonya lead a NAMIC expansion initiative serving the Hampton Roads and Richmond areas. Under her direction, NAMIC Virginia won three out of six industry awards in 2017, including Marketing Excellence, Event Management and the prestigious Chapter of the Year award.
Vonya volunteers at numerous community-based events and organizations and serves on the Boards for the Cox Employee Relief Fund, VA811, Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities-Tidewater chapter, the Hampton Roads Workforce Council and Lead Virginia.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from James Madison University, a Master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, a certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and is a Society for Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM- SCP). She is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), Content and Connectivity Human Resources (C2HR), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC). Vonya has graduated from Lead Virginia, the NAMIC Executive Leadership Development Program XVI and the University of Virginia Darden School Foundation Executive Education.
Vonya resides in Virginia Beach, VA. She has two daughters, Royal and Jordan.
