Wendy Vega

In her position as Director, Human Resources for Time Warner Cable’s Kansas City system, Wendy Vega’s responsibilities touch all facets of the business, including employees, customers, operations, technical and diversity. A member of the Kansas City system’s senior staff, she has a background in Organization Effectiveness and Learning and Development. Vega’s passion is to see leaders leverage the strengths of people resources, especially minorities and females, to grow the business. 

During her five years with Time Warner Cable, Vega has filled several roles, including training and development, management, employee relations, staffing, organization effectiveness, and diversity and inclusion.  Prior to joining Time Warner Cable, she held progressive leadership roles in the telecommunications, education and insurance industries.

In 2008, Vega was a presenter at the Human Resources Employee Retention and Engagement Conference Board in San Francisco.  A gifted writer, her most recent publication was in the November 2008 issue of The Global Business and Organization Excellence Journal, titled “Time Warner Cable Kansas City Looks Beyond the Usual Suspects for Ways to Retain and Engage Customer-Facing Employees.” 

Vega received her master’s degree in Business and Human Resources from Amberton University, Dallas, TX and her bachelor’s in Sociology and Black Studies from Amherst College, Amherst, MA. Her passion for Human Resources budded while completing her senior year thesis on Women in Business and later flourished into her lifetime career.
