Ying Wang is the Director of Advisory Services for FreeWheel, a division of Comcast’s advanced advertising business. She oversees a team of consultants and data scientists to advise professional media clients on how to make their digital content businesses more profitable. Ying specializes in helping publishers design better viewer experiences, scale their ad sales operations, and turn data into business insights. She also directs FreeWheel’s strategic research initiatives, including the widely read Video Monetization Report.
Previously, Ying advised media and retail companies as part of Oliver Wyman, a global management consultancy, and worked in Digital Distribution for the international division of Warner Bros Home Entertainment. Her enthusiasm for media was nurtured in college, where she interned in broadcast news production and served as an editor for the university’s daily paper.
Ying is a graduate of Harvard University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s in Economics with a minor in Psychology. She also has an MBA from the Wharton School and an MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in New York with her husband Patrick.
